She has worked for the University of Amsterdam, the University of Dunedin (New Zealand), the Netherlands Scientific Research and Documentation Centre, and the Ministry of Security and Justice. For many years she leaded her own research organisation, which specialised in researching behaviour change of people. In addition, she was a member of the Netherlands\u2019 Council for Criminal Law Application and Youth Protection.
